Publication Ethics and Principles
The Editorial Board, Editorial Board, Advisory Board, authors, and reviewers of Vera Journal: International Journal of Social Sciences are committed to adhering to the Principles of Transparency in Academic Publishing and Best Practices established by international organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Our journal adopts a publication policy that adheres to high ethical standards, preventing unethical practices in academic publishing by acting in accordance with the principles of scientific honesty, impartiality, and transparency in all publication processes.
Vera Journal: International Journal of Social Sciences adopts a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. All articles submitted to the journal are pre-checked by the editorial board using international plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin/iThenticate. The publication process is only proceeded with for studies with a similarity rate below 15% (excluding bibliography).
The Editorial Board, Editorial Board, and Advisory Board; The journal promptly evaluates all allegations of scientific misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and unauthorized use of data, in relation to published or accepted articles. If a study is found to contain plagiarism or to have used copyrighted materials belonging to third parties without permission or with incomplete disclosure:
The article may be retracted from publication,
The matter may be reported to the author’s institution, department head, dean’s office, or ethics committees,
The public may be informed if deemed necessary.
1. Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors’ Ethical Responsibilities
Author(s) must submit only original works that have not been previously published and are not under review in another journal.
All data used in the study must be presented accurately, completely, and in accordance with ethical rules.
If the research utilizes the work of others, this must be properly indicated with proper citation.
All authors must declare that they have made an academic contribution to the preparation of the study, and the author order should be determined according to these contributions.
For research requiring ethical committee approval (e.g., surveys, interviews, experiments, studies involving human or animal subjects), the relevant committee’s approval must be obtained, and this information must be clearly stated in the article.
If there is a conflict of interest or financial support in the article, this must be declared.
2. Editors’ Responsibilities
Editors evaluate submitted works impartially and confidentially in terms of scientific content.
Transparency and objectivity are observed in the preliminary evaluation, peer review process, and publication decisions of articles.
Editors evaluate works independently of the author’s ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, or personal opinions.
Editors are obligated to initiate appropriate action if they become aware of any unethical situation.
3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers must evaluate submitted works with scientific impartiality, in a timely manner, and in accordance with the principle of confidentiality.
Using the information in the article for any purpose during the evaluation process is unethical.
Reviewers should not participate in the evaluation process if they have a conflict of interest.
Criticisms should be constructive and should not contain insults or personal opinions.
4. Publication Policies
Open Access: Vera Journal offers all published articles as open access, thus promoting access to knowledge in the social sciences.
Publication Fees: Vera Journal does not charge authors any fees for article submission or publication.
Revision and Retraction: In case of errors or ethical violations identified in published articles, the journal will make the necessary corrections or retract the article.
Reporting Ethical Violations
Vera Journal reserves the right to inform the relevant institutions, suspend publication, retract, or correct the article in case of detection of ethical violations. In case of detection of an unethical situation, please contact the editorial board at editor@jcsar.net.
